Brennan Retains Fitzwilliam Title

Thursday, 4 December 2014

It may not be quite up there with Dan Harrington's back-to-back WSOP Main Event final table appearances but big props to Keith Brennan who took down the Fitzwilliam Poker Festival Main Event for the second successive year.

A total of 77 players entered the €540 Main Event at the Dublin cardroom but after two days of hard fought action it was Brennan who walked away with the biggest share of the €38,423 prize pool. After a four-way chop, Brennan pocketed a first prize of €13,503.

Brennan's triumph wasn't the only fairytale at the Fitzwilliam. Main Event runner-up and club regular Des Fagan managed to parlay a €50 satellite seat into a very nice payday of €8,060, more than ten times his previous best live score.

The final table payouts were as follows:

1 *Keith Brennan €13,503
2 *Des Fagan €8,060
3 *Trim Nikollaj €5,370
4 *Noel Murphy €3,450
5 Iancu Nicola €2,680
6 Alan Tang €1,920
7 Daragh Davey €1,530
8 Nicholas Newport €1,150
9 Martin Hoa Loung €760
