Brenes Leaves PokerStars

Brenes Leaves PokerStars

Thursday, 14 August 2014

Team PokerStars Pro stalwart and owner of a shiver of sharks, Humberto Brenes, recently confirmed that he will no longer be representing the online poker giant.

Known as ‘De Chark’, Brenes was a popular member of PokerStars’ roster for eight years but is now a free agent after failing to agree new terms.

News of the departure came via an interview with PokerNews in which he explained that the ‘decision was made through mutual agreement’ after the ‘terms of the [contract] renewal were not suited to the company’ or himself.

The 63-year-old Costa Rican is still a famous face on the South American poker scene and managed an impressive ten cashes at this year's World Series Of Poker (WSOP). However, it seems that the new owner of PokerStars, Amaya Gaming, is looking to shake things up and possibly bring in some fresh blood over the coming months.

Indeed, it's also been reported by various sources that Nacho Barbero and Angel Guillen have also parted ways with PokerStars over the last few days.
