Bodog has announced the addition of the 2005 Heads-up Poker Championship at Bay 101, and the Bay 101 Shooting Stars Buy-In Event to their books. Fans can now bet on the result of the tournaments.
“The growth of poker has been unbelievable to watch over the past couple of years, and all of the players competing in these events deserve as much recognition as possible,” said Calvin Ayre, Founder and CEO of Bodog.com Sports Casino Poker. “With all the excitement around poker many players have been requesting that we post odds on all the events, and this is yet another two events for everyone to wager on.”
Current player of the year, Daniel Negreanu is favored to win the 2005 National Heads-Up Poker Championship at 10/1 odds. Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, John Juanda, Erick Lindgren and Howard Lederer are all close behind Negreanu at 12/1 odds.
For the 2005 Bay 101 Shooting Stars $10,000 Buy-In event, Mike “The Grinder” Mizrachi, who recently won the LA Poker Classic, is positioned as the favorite at 5/1 odds, with Erick Lindgren at 6/1 odds. Daniel Negreanu is once again in the list, currently sitting at 8/1 odds.
“I am very excited to see two more Team Bodog members hitting the live tables for these events, and I am interested to see how they perform against the best in the world,” said Calvin Ayre. “Every single one of the players in both tournaments has an excellent shot at taking the top prize, but some players bring their A-games every time they come out for tournament play.”
