Bodog.com is back

Bodog.com is back

Monday, 15 June 2009

Bodog.com, one of the big names in American online gaming, has announced that it has settled a two-year legal dispute with now defunct supplier company 1st Technology. The deal will enable it to trade under the Bodog.com domain again.

The dispute centred on 1st Technology (a group described by former Bodog CEO Scott Lewis as a “patent troll”), holding the rights to the bodog.com domain name, which forced the company to operate as Bodoglife.com.

“Gaining ownership of the Bodog.com domain was a moment of immense pride for me, it felt akin to taking ownership of a piece of Bodog’s history,” says Alwyn Morris from Morris Mohawk Gaming Group, the licensee of the Bodog brand. “We are overjoyed to not only be a part of the return of one of the industry’s most prestigious and recognizable domains, but to also be the driving force behind the brands operation in that market. Bodog.com is back and here to stay!”

The news means that Bodog.com will become the centre of operations for US facing players.
