Tuesday, 23 June 2015

The massive field of 1,914 starters in the WSOP $1.5k Extended Play NLHE event has been whittled down to just 26 with Barny Boatman leading the charge for bracelet glory.

The Londoner closed the penultimate day on 1,152,000, putting him just ahead of Brazilian Luis Duarte (1,075,000) and Artem Metalidi (1,056,000).

Day four started with 114 players still in contention for the $478,102 prize pool with the likes of Antonio Esfandiari, Jonathan Little and Andrew Frankenberger among the notables who fell by the wayside.

Still hanging on is Yevgeniy Timoshenko. The Ukrainian began the day with the chip lead but closed it as the short stack with 226,000.

The remaining survivors are guaranteed a payout of at least $13,953 but will be eyeing something much more substantial. The final five will all receive a six figure sum with the eventual winner pocketing the $478k biggie.
