PokerStars APPT Sydney – Aaron Benton wins AUD $594,000
The Grand Final of the PokerStars Asian Pacific Poker Tour took place at the Sky City casino in Sydney, with almost 400 players competing in the event before one man took down the grand prize.
Aaron Benton bested Ernst Hermans – who qualified for $22 – after a heads-up chop, holding KK for an overpair on a 977 board against the 98s of Hermans. The full final table placings and prizes are as follows:

PokerStars EPT Prague – Jan Skampa wins €682,000
Jan Skampa has made his second EPT final table of the past fortnight – after finishing in 4th place at the EPT Vilamoura, he has taken down the EPT Prague on home soil, shooting himself to the top of the Czech all-time money list.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan on the comeback trail
Tom Dwan lost $3m to Isildur1 and rumours began flying that he was finally busto. Not true – he did play a lot of $50/$100 hands, which for him is moving down quite a way, but eventually clocked up wins at $300/$600 to take his weekend earnings to nearly $1.5m. We’re all eagerly anticipating the Isildur1 rematch.
James Akenhead wins Poker Million
After final table appearances in both the WSOP and WSOPE main events, James Akenhead capped 2009 in style after winning the Full Tilt Poker Million. The Londoner outlasted a seven-man final table to scoop the $500,000 first prize. Read the full story here
