Blom bests Dwan in Heads Up Showdown

Blom bests Dwan in Heads Up Showdown

Tuesday, 11 December 2012

It may not have reached the monetary heights of previous encounters but Sunday's heads up match between Viktor Blom and Tom Dwan provided plenty for the rail to enjoy.

The Full Tilt Poker ambassadors had originally agreed to square off over four $100/$200 NLHE tables with a total of $200,000 up for grabs but the total amount of cash in play eventually reached $400,000. Like the majority of previous matches between Isildur1 and Durrrr it was the Swede who emerged victorious, taking Dwan's roll in under three hours of action.

Dwan had taken an early lead with KK against 10s but Blom's hyper aggression soon started to pay dividends. All told it took Isildur1 1,391 hands to seal victory, taking Durrrr's final $4,000 dollars when his A2 came from behind to crush Dwan's pocket tens.

The recent clash certainly whetted the appetite of railbirds who will be hoping for more high stakes action from two of poker's biggest names.
