Blom Winning Again

Blom Winning Again

Wednesday, 9 January 2013

By now it’s become pretty clear that Viktor “Ilsidur1” Blom has found the form that first made him one of the most feared players in the world.

Indeed, despite ending 2012 on a low, the Swede has seized the New Year with both hands and scooped in a haul of $4,073,070 in just eight days of action. A large part of that total came courtesy of a $1.3 million day yesterday, which saw Blom crush some of the game’s best over the course of 1,500 hands.

Overall Blom’s impressive feat has been made all the more special by the fact that a lot of his profit has come in games other than Hold’em and PLO.

Several successful sessions at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables, including a $300,000 win over one of the variants experts Alex “Alexonmoon” Luneau, has shown the community that Blom is a true all-rounder.

Also feeling the wrath of Blom in the last 24 hours was Phil Galfond. The American decided to play his first real session of 2013 but got “beat up” by Blom.

It seems inevitable that this current hot streak by Blom won’t continue (such is the nature of poker); however, with the NBC Heads-Up Championship on the horizon it looks as though he’ll be one of the favourites.
