Blair Hinkle wins WSOP Circuit Council Bluffs event

Friday, 3 September 2010

World Series of Poker bracelet-winner Blair Hinkle emerged victorious over a 251-strong field in the $1,600 WSOP Circuit Event in Iowa. For his efforts he was rewarded with not only $88,000 but also a gold ring; a seat in the 2011 WSOP Main Event and also a place in the $1,000,000 National Championships and a chance at a second bracelet.

Hinkle took on Shiva Dudani heads-up for the title in Council Bluffs, in which he won a seven-figure chip pot with just ace high after calling down the king high of his opponent on the turn of a paired board. In the final hand, Dudani moved in with a busted gutshot draw only to run into Hinkle's two pair.

Hinkle is no stranger to big final tables, having taken down the $2,000 NL event in 2008 for over $500,000. His brother, Grant, also won a bracelet that same year. Take that, Mizrachi brothers!

The full final table payouts were as follows:
1. Blair Hinkle – $88,555
2. Shiva Dudani – $54,715
3. Dwyte Pilgrim – $39,531
4. Matthew Lawrence – $29,092
5. Charles Moore – $21,795
6. Jack Do – $16,608
7. John Wakeen – $12,867
8. Daniel Biddle – $10,131
9. Kevin Calenzo – $8,103
