Black Belt London Live Day 1A complete

Black Belt London Live Day 1A complete
Saturday, 13 March 2010

150 players started the opening day of London Live and by the close only 34 remained.

Top of the chip counts was Toby Lewis who had amassed a massive stack of 312,000 by the end of play, a whopping 115,000 over nearest rival Wilson Chan who has 197,500. Lewis rocketed up the leader board when he held A3 on a 5-3-3 flop. The action really warmed up with an ace on the turn though. The chips went in with his opponent holding 2-4 for what appeared to be the nut straight but was in fact crushed by Lewis's full house. Ouch.

Black Belt Poker founder Neil Channing is still in the hunt too. Clad in full martial arts gear, Channing needed a timely double up just before the close to get back in the hunt. Channing pushed his pocket eights and was called by Chun Law's AKo. The K-Q-J flop looked to be sending Snoopy to the rail but an eight on the turn and a blank on the river kept the host with most in the hunt.

150 more players will start Day 1B at noon today. Join us over the weekend for updates.
