Bikini poker game in California bar shut down

Saturday, 4 September 2010

If the 2010 run of Poker in the Park has taught us anything, it's that beautiful women in very few clothes and poker is just a dandy combination. It turns out that police in Covina, California, were not so enthusiastic about the idea and shut down a bikini bar game at The Well.

Eight people were arrested in a raid where 24 players were competing at NL Hold 'em and several staff were working, including The Well's trademark underwear and/or bikini wearing staff. Police said that they had been investigating the bar for more than a month but if we were them we would have stretched out that observational period for a while.

The manager and five staff members were some of the people arrested for organising the illegal game. Over $2,000 in cash was confiscated as well as poker chips, shuffling machines and other poker paraphernalia.
