Online poker room FullTiltPoker.com has announced that its fifth Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) ended Sunday with player ‘CrazyZachary’ walking away with the main prize of $395,905.44.
The site, based in Costa Rica, said that Sunday was the peak day for FTOPS 5 with over $3.8 million dollars changing hands between the final two events.
The contest consisted of 14 events with Event Twelve on Saturday being hosted by international poker ace Phil Ivey. This was Full Tilt's first ever two-day event with its $2,620 buy-in the biggest yet for the series.
World Series Of Poker runner-up Paul Wasicka hosted the FTOPS Main Event, which offered a two million dollars guaranteed prize pool boosted by an entry overlay of $289,000. This provided cash to 648 players in the event with the top four spots worth a six-figure take-home.
FullTiltPoker.com said that a total of 4,578 poker players entered hoping to make the main event and, as a result, the tournament ran through to the early hours on Monday morning.
’CrazyZachary’ had the fourth largest chip stack when the final game started with lead player ‘Chardrian’ around 1.5 million in chips ahead at 4,676,442. By the time the final table was down to four, ‘CrazyZachary’ and ‘Chardrian’ were both playing aggressively and eliminating opponents but the latter eventually found himself eliminated in third place earning $155,652. Finishing in second place, ‘Clayton_27’ walked away with $240,345 after having the lead change several times.
