The Genting Stanley National Poker League has got off to a barn-storming start, with over 4,000 players taking part in a first month which saw over £500,000 being paid out in prize money.

The Genting Stanley National Poker League has got off to a barn-storming start, with over 4,000 players taking part in a first month which saw over £500,000 being paid out in prize money. Those who are successful in the League will then take their chance to tackle some of the biggest names in British poker at the Genting Stanley National Poker Championships. Players already confirmed for the Championship are Joe Beevers, Barny Boatman and Dave Colclough.
The festival already has a continental feel, with over 200 players from all around Europe registered, along with ten players who will qualify from pokerinthepub.com, one of the leading poker leagues in the UK.
There are also expected to be a strong showing of online qualifiers, with networks such as Full Tilt, Ongame, Playtech and Boss sending players to the event.
Live super satellite qualifiers are running in various Genting Stanley Casinos across the UK and more information can be found on the GSNP League website.
The Championship takes place from 26th – 30th March, 2008 at Genting Stanley's Manchester, Southend, and Nottingham casinos.
