Betting Open for WSOP Finale

Betting Open for WSOP Finale

Thursday, 23 October 2014

This year's WSOP Main Event final table is just around the corner, but before the action gets underway the bookies are preparing their odds.

Although picking a winner is never easy in a poker tournament, those in the know are tipping Jorryt van Hoof as the favourite. The Dutch pro will enter the finale with the chip lead as well as a 3/1 price tag from the bookies. That figure puts him just ahead of Felix Stephensen who is currently second in the latest betting markets at 4/1.

In general the trend is to offer odds based on a player's stack size, but ahead of this year's WSOP showdown, the bookies have decided to price Martin Jacobson at 6/1. The young pro has won a string of titles in Europe and is well known on the tournament circuit, but heading in the final table he has one of the shortest stacks.

In fact, only one player, Bruno Politano, has fewer chips than the Swede, which makes him somewhat of a speculative bet. Of course, as in previous years, anything can happen when the chips start to fly, so whoever you decided to bet on you'll be facing a sweat when the action resumes on November 9.
