Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier Leads EPT Barcelona Day 2

Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier Leads EPT Barcelona Day 2

Monday, 7 September 2009

The PokerStars European Poker Tour enjoyed a very speedy day in Barcelona as 240 players from the two Day 1s returned and were narrowed down to just 72 even before the full six blind levels were completed.

Despite this, the average stack is around 200,000 at the 2000/4000 blind level, so around 50 big blinds. As we know, when it comes to NLHE, the deeper the better. Top of this mighty chip count is Matt Lapoisse with a staggering 705,000 in chips. Close behind in third place is Team PokerStars pro Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, holding a pile of chips totalling 425,000.

The 72 players returning have all made the money – in fact, they are guaranteed a 50% ROI as they will all return with at least €12,000. However, there is still an €850,000 first-place prize to play for and ElkY, Timex and Marc Goodwin are all top tournament players still in contention.

You can qualify for future EPT events at PokerStars.
