Saturday, 24 April 2010

With only six players remaining David Benyamine is the man to catch in the $25k WPT Championship event at the Bellagio.

Joining the Frenchman at the televised final table will be David Williams, Eric Baldwin, Billy Baxter, Shawn Buchanan and Irishman John O'Shea.

It wasn't a good day for former World Champions yesterday as both Scotty Nguyen and Phil Hellmuth departed. Joining them on the rail were Cliff Josephy and Nikolay Evdakov. The Poker Brat was the bubble boy, dparting in 7th place after his K10o couldn't overturn David Williams' AJ.

The remaining six players are all guaranteed almost $200,000 for reaching the final table but they'll only have eyes for the $1.5m first prize when he action resumes at midnight tonight UK time.

The final table chip counts are as follows:

1 David Benyamine 4,705,000
2 David Williams 4,700,000
3 Eric Baldwin 4,490,000
4 Billy Baxter 2,440,000
5 Shawn Buchanan 1,965,000
6 John O'Shea 1,200,000

Join us on Monday to see who's celebrating.
