It's often said that poker these days is a young man's game and that proved to be the case in Newcastle over the weekend as Ben Young added the APAT UK Amateur Poker Championship to his APAT World crown.

Young outlasted a 156-runner field to claim his second APAT title and took home a first prize of £3,625 as well as a seat in a UKIPT Main Event.

1st Ben Young £3625
2nd Craig Simpson £2340
3rd Robert Dunbar £1521
4th Chris Peers £1053
5th Andres Sanchez £760
6th Andrew Harrison £468
7th JP Round £351
8th Mark Langdale £292
9th Paul Mallett £234

UK bragging rights were also up for grabs in a special APAT Team Championship which saw eight teams of four compete in a series of STTs, MTTs and heads-up matches. In the end it was the Welsh A team who emerged victorious, beating the England B team to the title.
