Ben Grundy Boasts Huge 2008 Omaha Winnings

UK pro Ben “The Milkybar Kid” Grundy has shocked the online poker world by posting his 2008 graphs for high-stakes Pot-Limit Omaha. The $50/$100 records have caused the most intrigue given that they show a staggering $2.6m net profit… in just 34,000 hands.
Pot-Limit Omaha is a very high-variance game, especially in the “any four cards” way Grundy plays it. However, a 260 buy-in run in so few hands is amazing even for any pro. Even Brian “Stinger88” Hastings, one of the best PLO players in the world, admitted that he found the graph “hard to believe.”
Grundy attributed his meteoric rise to the top of the game as down to “luck, skill and learning to control my tilt.” However, he does admit that learning to deal with the immense PLO variance (that he is currently seeing the upside of) was very tough at first:
“I remember once losing 28 buy-ins at $10/$20 in a day. I have a pretty low daily stop loss for my bankroll and stakes I play,” he said. “I have lost over $50,000 in a day maybe only 2 or 3 times this year.”
