Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic kicks off today

Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic kicks off today

Friday, 26 November 2010

As the year wraps up there are still some big poker tournaments to take care of and one of them is undoubtedly the Five Diamond World Poker Classic being hosted at the Bellagio and ending with a $10,000 buy-in World Poker Tour championship.

The event kicks off today with a $540 NLHE tournament but over the next two weeks a whole host of poker tournaments will go down including a $1,080 Omaha 8; a $1,080 PLO with rebuys; a Seniors’ Event and several NLHE tournaments with varying buy-ins.

All this stops on December 3rd when the WPT Five Diamond Poker Classic Main Event begins with a $10,300 buy-in running for three days. Last year Daniel Alaei beat a field of 329 players to take a first prize of $1,428,430 after defeating Josh Arieh heads-up after a final table including Scotty Nguyen and Faraz Jaka.

The event has previous champions reading like a Who’s Who of poker including Alaei, “Chino” Rheem, Eugene Katchalov, Joe Hachem and Daniel Negreanu. This year the buy-in is reduced from $15,000 to $10,000.
