Bell tolls at WSOP Circuit event

Tuesday, 21 December 2010

93 players started Day 2 of the latest WSOP Circuit event in Atlantic City and by the close of play just 27 players remain with 2010 WSOP $5k PLO Hi Lo Split bracelet winner Chris Bell leading the way.

There are plenty of big names still in the hunt for the $358,295 first prize though including Victor Ramdin, Eugene Katchalov, Sorel Mizzi and David Sands who will all be seated at the same table when play resumes later today.

Other notables still in contention include Beth Shak, Andy Frankenberger and 2007 WSOP finalist Lee Childs who returns as the short stack. Matthew Waxman, who won the previous WSOPC event last week, is also in the hunt for back to back wins.

One name missing from the returning list is that of long time chip leader Vanessa Selbst. The Partouche Poker champion was crippled after her pocket kings were cracked by Chris Klodnicki's 87s and busted shortly after. Joining Selbst on the rail were David 'Bakes' Baker, Amnon Filippi, Nick Schulman, TJ Cloutier and John Racener.

The leading chip counts are as follows:

1st: Chris Bell - 434,500
2nd: Seth Fischer - 386,700
3rd: Eugene Katchalov - 306,400
4th: Frank Calo - 255,100
5th: Jason Burt - 195,300
6th: Ketan Pandya - 186,200
7th: Nick Mitchell - 183,200
8th: Matthew Waxman - 179,800
9th: Chris Klodnicki - 179,700
10th: Jack Schanbacher - 168,000
