Bebb-Jones pleads guilty

Tuesday, 19 February 2013

British poker pro Marcus Bebb-Jones faces a lengthy spell behind bars after admitting murdering his wife. The 49-year-old agreed a plea bargain with US prosecutors on a charge of second degree murder in the heat of passion.

Bebb-Jones, who owned a hotel in Grand Junction, Colorado, killed Sabrina, his Vietnamese-born wife in 1997 before dumping her body in a remote part of the state.

He then allegedly spent all of his wife's money on what prosecutors described as a 'playboy' style weekend in Las Vegas.

Sentencing will be carried out on 1 May with prosecutors recommending that Bebb-Jones receive the maximum possible sentence.

Bebb-Jones is probably best known in poker circles for winning a Grosvenor Grand Prix event in 2007.
