Poker tournament organiser World Poker Store (WPS) has announced that its Bar Poker League has expanded into the American state of Wisconsin, adding to the more than 100 tournaments per week it runs in bars and restaurants.
Minnesota-based WPS had previously announced the opening of a second corporate office in Fort Myers, Florida, in order to support the Bar Poker League and gaming partners in the southeast.
'As part of the company's growth initiatives, offices in Minnesota, The Netherlands and now Florida will serve as headquarters for operations in their respective regions both domestic and overseas,' said a WPS press release.
WPS said that the opening of the Florida office was necessary to support the multiple business models in each area into which it has expanded.
'The expansion of the league to Wisconsin is a prime example of how our Minnesota offices will allow us to open throughout the Midwest and we expect similar impact in Europe and the southeast region of the US,' said Greg Needham, Vice-President of Marketing and Business Development for WPS.
'We are excited to launch the league in Wisconsin and look forward to adding more venues to the Bar Poker League tournament family.'
WPS said that it has plans to expand the League into 23 other American states where it is legal to set up games of poker.
