Women, eh? That’s what I’m talking about, even getting flustered in a blog just talking about them as a general species rather than face-to-face.

Women have been successful in poker more than ever recently – Liv Boeree joins Sandra Naujoks and Vicky Coren at the top of the ‘beautiful ladies who have won EPT events’ list while players such as Annette Obrestad, Jennifer Harman and Annie Duke are household names in the poker world. Some people like this, some don’t.


“I’ll tell you what: if three women win a bracelet at the World Series of Poker, I’ll run naked down The Strip with a camera behind me.  You heard it by me”. Unfortunately, the ‘me’ in this equation is Mike Matusow. If the bet was for one of the six names above to run naked down the Vegas strip, hell even Annette, I’d be more up for it.


Fortunately, I doubt it will happen. That said, did Mike take the Ladies’ Event into consideration? Because unless we get another cross-dresser entering it just for a bit of attention a woman will almost definitely win that bracelet.


So, that leaves two women to win a bracelet. Annette Obrestad is going over to the WSOP this month which means it’s certainly not beyond the realms of possibility that she’ll win a bracelet. That means Mrs. Harmen-Traniello needs to step up in those mixed games she’s meant to be so good at.


Basically, readers, what I’m getting at is that women are people just like you and I. Also that Mike Matusow naked and running would be horrible. Just horrible.
