BBC news run feature on British pro poker players

Monday, 7 November 2011

Last week, one of the top features on BBC.co.uk/news was a poker piece, and fortunately it involved no cheating scandals or Ponzi schemes. The feature focused on the recent successes of British poker players like Triple Crown winner Jake Cody, November Niner Sam Holden and EPT Champion Liv Boeree.

The piece can be viewed here, and described Holden’s journey to the final table of the WSOP Main Event as well as Boeree’s rise from TV guest to professional poker player and EPT champion. Most attention is given to Holden, who at the time could have been the first Briton to win the event since Iranian-born Mansour Matloubi in 1990.
