In a new book, author Kim Isaac Greenblatt offers insight into the wacky variation of Texas Hold'em, hi/lo split poker – Crazy Pineapple 8b poker. The madcap author has also released a press statement in which he playfully claims that playing the game might bring peace to the Middle East.
Asked whether the book, 'Crazy Pineapple 8b Poker,' might bring peace to the region, Greenblatt responds: 'Probably not. Unless everybody agrees to forget everything that has happened in the last couple of thousand years and decides to let bygones be bygones and live and teach peace. However I know that a good step in that direction would be to start playing Crazy Pineapple 8b poker.'
Crazy Pineapple 8b Poker is a hi/lo split game (where the 8b stands for 8 or less to make a qualifying low hand) played in a similar vein to Texas Hold'em. However, instead of each player getting two cards, they get three and discard one after the flop. The game is very popular in home games and with the recent resurgence in poker with Texas Hold'em Poker, interest has been sparked internationally once again.
The book covers the Crazy Pineapple 8b rules, strategies, some instructional hands and brief coverage of variations of Pineapple and Tahoe as well as some Omaha 8b.
