Aussie Millions final table set – Ivey misses out
Saturday, 28 January 2012
The final table of the 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event has been set and unfortunately for most the of the rail, both Phil Ivey and Lee Nelson won't be at it.
Ivey was the first of the 12 Day five starters to be eliminated after running his AQ into
Yann Dion's AK.
Lee Nelson, looking to become the first player to win the Aussie Millions twice, bowed out soon after, losing a flip with AK against
Oliver Speidel's pocket 8s. The other high profile name who started the penultimate day was 2011 WSOP $10k Limit champion
Daniel Idema. The brother of 2+2 Pokercast host Adam Schwartz ended up as the final table bubble boy though, like Ivey running AQ into AK.
Bjorn Li is our chip leader going into the final day. The Aussie returns with 4,775,000 chips followed by Speidel, who recently won the Manny Pacquiao World Poker Event.
The final table action starts at 12.30pm local time (1.30am UK time) with the winner walking away with $1.6m.
The final table chip counts are as follows:
1. Bjorn Li – 4,775,000
2. Oliver Speidel – 3,415,000
3. Patrick Healy – 2,995,000
4. Ken Wong – 2,330,000
5. Yann Dion – 2,325,000
6. Mile Krstanoski – 2,295,000
7. Mohamad Kowssarie – 1,750,000
