Aussie Millions Opening Event Day 1c completed

Sunday, 17 January 2010

The total number of registrations for the opening event of the 2010 Aussie Millions tournament series – a $1,100 NLHE event – has broken records by generating 1,143 total entries and setting records as the largest poker tournament in Australia.

This confirms the first prize as a little over $200,000 and with 195 players still in the hunt, it’s anybody’s game. Nick Haidaris tops the chip counts for Day 1c after accumulating an impressive 165,300.

This day was the most star-studded, unfortunately most of them were falling stars as they hit the rail: Barny Boatman, Andrew Jeffreys, Rayan Nathan, Tony G, Lee Nelson, Mel Judah, 2005 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Hachem, Clonie Gowen, Sorel Mizzi and 2009 Aussie Millions Main Event champion Stewart Scott all left early.

Join us next week for updates as we get to the business end of the Aussie Millions 2010 opening tournament.
