Asian Pacific Poker Tour – money bubble burst

Friday, 13 November 2009

Almost 400 players stepped up to the plate at the Asian Pacific Poker Tour Cebu main event, taking the first-place prize to nearly $150,000. Now, just 40 players remain after Till Umbach was eliminated on the money bubble to guarantee every remaining player a $3,000 payout.

This marks the end of Day 2, with 40 players remaining out of the 153 survivors from two Day 1s. No team PokerStars pro made it through the day, with most of their Asian contingent hitting the rail early on during a frantic flurry of eliminations.

Dong-bin Han is currently the chip leader on 438,000; New Zealand resident Phillip Wiccocks follows closely on 453,000. The only recognisable name in the pack is Nam Le, in 8th place on 64,000.

Play resumes tomorrow at noon local time when the 40 remaining competitors will play down until a final nine are decided. As always, join us for updates.
