Ashton “theASHMAN103” Griffin runs 70 miles in 24 hours

Tuesday, 8 February 2011

Poker players come up with some mental prop bets, so this isn’t the craziest we’ve ever seen but it’s still pretty ridiculous. Ashton Griffin, NAPT champion and better known by high stakes screenname theASHMAN103, won $300,000 for running seventy miles in a 24-hour period.

Griffin completed the 70 miles on a treadmill with just under an hour to spare which is phenomenal considering he did not train or prepare for the challenge in any way. A college-level wrestler, Griffin is in good shape but according to Justin Bonomo, had only five hours of sleep the night befire he completed the epic run... with a hangover.

Of course, a picture from Vegas shows Griffin flat out on four chairs stolen from nearby poker tables between hands so he isn’t actually superman. Bonomo also mentioned on the Two Plus Two forums that Griffin once won a bet to run home fifteen miles from a restaurant in 3 hours after gorging on all-you-can-eat sushi.
