Day 1b of the World Poker Tour’s stop in Amneville, France, saw 203 players boost the field to a total of 379, with 105 of them joining the 113 Day 1a survivors. Nicolas Babel has been overtaken in the chip count by Jean-Francois Rigollet, who turned his starting stack of 30k into 164,700.

Big names are also taking big stacks to Day 2 – Joseph Cheong and Arnaud Mattern both made it into the top ten chip counts with six-figure stacks. Other notable survivors include Liv Boeree and Jamie Rosen.

A total of 218 of the 379 starters will be back back for the five flights of Day 2 action. 36 will make the money with top 18 all guaranteed a five-figure score. The winner is set to walk away with €310,633 (plus $25,500 seat to WPT World Championship) with the runner up taking a none too shabby €170,365 (plus a €10,000 package to the 2012 WPT Grand Prix de Paris).

Entries are down this year for the event, which in the last WPT season saw Sam El Sayed beat a field of 542 players to win €426,425.
