British players flocked to the Gala Casino in Stockton on Tees for the latest leg of the Gala Coral British Poker Tour last weekend. After two days of play, the money eventually went to Anthony Arlot, who pocketed £30,000 for his efforts.

The field was a tough looking one, with Keith ‘The Camel’ Hawkins, CT Law and Richard Trigg all in the field. They were joined by an up and coming star in the form of Billy Ngo.

The title was eventually decided when Arlot found himself heads up with James O'Connell. The last hand saw O’Connell try an audacious bluff with nine high on the river, but Arlot’s radar was locked in and he made a cracking call with a paired ten to take £30,000 first prize and a seat in the grand final, which takes place in Bristol on December 1st.
