Apple launches best mobile poker device yet

At 6pm Apple revealed the latest and most eagerly anticipated iPhone yet. And while the people in Cupertino are excited, it's the poker fans in the UK that should be excited. Those poor California iPhone owners don't have the luxury of playing poker on the go, as apple doesn't allow real money apps on their American phones as they do on UK devices.

So why could this new iPhone be the best pocket poker device yet. The new iPhone 5 will have 4G capability, meaning it will have the fastest possible, but more importantly, the most consistent data connection technically possible. As the UK is set to roll out its 4g network across 16 cities, players can finally be confident playing poker on the go, without fear of disconnections to interrupt their game.

The new device is 18 per cent thinner and 20 per cent lighter than the old version making it even more portable than before. The new model features an expanded 4” screen with a resolution of 1136x640 making it ideal for poker players on the move. The improved A6 processor is apparently twice as quick at crunching numbers and graphics which should mean much improved gameplay. Battery life is set to remain about the same at 8 hours with wifi use. That’s about the same as iPhone 4 but still plenty long enough to put in a lengthy session at the tables.

UK iPhone users can already play poker on the move at Bwin and PokerStars. We can't wait to give the new iPhone a proper spin at the tables.
