Tuesday, 7 September 2010

The British Poker Awards promise to be one of the highlights of the London Poker Festival and attendees at next week's event are in for a treat with the news that Victory Poker pro Antonio Esfandiari will be co-hosting the ceremony alongside our very own Michael Caselli.

British poker's version of the BAFTA's gets under way at 7pm on Monday 13th September at the Kensington Close Hotel with top comic and poker lover Yianni Agisilaou kicking off proceedings before the Esfandiari and Caselli dish out the gongs to the great and the good of the British poker world.

“Antonio is one of the game’s biggest personalities and I am so excited that he is the Master of Ceremonies at the first British Poker Awards,” Caselli said. “This awards night is a special event for the British poker scene, as we honour those who have made outstanding contributions in the game, but it’s also going to be a night where the poker playing public can come and meet their favourite players and watch the best players in the land receive their awards.”

A host of top names are expected to attend the ceremony including the likes of James Akenhead, Vicky Coren, Marty Wilson, Neil Channing, Tony Kendall and Tony Holden. Tickets for the star studded event are still available at £39. As well as getting the chance to mingle with poker royalty at a pre awards cocktail party, attendees will also have the chance to take part in an optional £50 freezeout tournament after the ceremony.
