Anthony Zinno Does It Again

Anthony Zinno Does It Again

There's no hotter player on the tournament circuit at the moment than Anthony Zinno who has confounded the odds to win back-to-back World Poker Tour titles.

Zinno topped a 538-runner field to win the $10,000 LA Poker Classic just weeks after claiming the WPT Fallsview Classic in Niagara Falls.

In the process, the American pro etched his name into the World Poker Tour record books by becoming only the third player to win back-to-back tour events. Zinno's Californian triumph was his third WPT win (he won the Borgata Open in 2013) which puts him alongside Gus Hansen and Carlos Mortensen in the triple winners' club.

Zinno outlasted a tough final table that included Peter Tran and Chris Klodnicki before defeating Mike Leah heads-up. He sealed the deal in style, his pocket aces holding against Leah's unfortunately timed shove with A3.

The latest triumph earned Zinno a maiden seven-figure score and takes his earnings for 2015 up to a cool $1,335,624.

1st: Anthony Zinno - $1,015,860
