Andy Wright wins Stoke Anniversary Cup for £12,000.

Tuesday, 3 August 2010

Over 300 players stumped up £150 in addition to the £4,000 added to the prize pool at the Stoke Anniversary Cup, creating a first prize of £12,000 that was picked up by Andy Wright after besting 333 other players to the top prize.

As well as the extra four grand, the tournament also had a seat at the $8,000 inaugural World Poker Tour London classic that will come to our shores at the Mayfair Hotel and Casino this September. Stoke Circus played out the event until 3am when Wright secured the trophy.

In September, London becomes the poker capital of the world with a host of events taking place – the British Poker Awards will honour the best and brightest of the UK’s poker talents, taking place one day before the World Series Of Poker Europe returns once again to Leicester Square as Barry Shulman defends his title.

In addition, the first ever World Poker Tour London Classic will see dozens of players including Phil Ivey compete at the Mayfair hotel – before even that, though, there is the always packed English Poker Open and the event no one should miss – Bluff Europe’s very own Poker In The Park.
