Andy Peters is king of the castle, well the sandcastle at least, after winning the GUKPT Blackpool Main Event at the seaside resort’s Sandcastle Casino.

Peters outlasted a 262-runner field to pocket a first prize of £72,020 defeating Ben (son of Paul) Jackson heads up. Jackson junior shouldn’t be too disappointed with his week’s work though. In addition to the £47,820 he collected for his second place in the Main Event, the youngster also took home a further £20,980 in the £500 freezeout event earlier in the week.

4. Rupinder Bedi £19,000
5. Dan Corbett £14,150
6. Paul Bracken £11,530
7. Mark Livesey £8,910
8. Jack Ellwood £7,200
