Wednesday, 28 March 2012

Day 1b of the EPT Campione has concluded with a total of 325 survivors set to return for Day 2. Leading the way at the close of Day 1B was Nicolas Chouity on 165,800 chips.

Most of those came via Vanessa Selbst, who did her usual trick of 6-bet shoving J-9. Chouity had the aces and held to take a chip leading stack home. Not literally, of course – you have to leave your chips in the casino.

Chouity will start day 2 just behind Day 1A chip leader Davide Andreoni who returns with 175,100. DTD regular Alex Goulder heads the UK challenge on 101,000 with David Vamplew 100,100, Chris Moorman 64,400, Roberto Romanello 50,800, Rupert Elder 39,900, Toby Lewis 26,800 also making it through to Day 2.

Other notable survivors include PokerStars pros Eugene Katchalov, Liv Boeree and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier as well as Patrik Antonius, Kevin Macphee and Faraz Jaka.

The The winner of the event is set to take home €640,000 with 88 players paid €7,500.
