Andrea Dato leading final six players at WPT Venice

After four days the World Poker Tour Venice Grand Prix has reached an official six-handed final table with local player Andrea Dato leading the way as the only player with seven figures in chips. He won a big coinflip to bust Jason Wheeler in 7th and take the lead.

Dato has over $340,000 in lifetime cashes including final tables on the Italian Poker Tour and WSOP, as well as a fourth place in this event back in December.


The Italian’s 1.591m chips give him the lead, with Simon Ravnsbaek and Rinat Bogdanov both closing in on the million chip count. Others at the final table include Alessandro Longobardi, Andrea Carini and Gianluca Trebbi for an Italy-dominated final.


All six are guaranteed €32,195 with the winner taking home €229,800 plus a $25,000 WPT Championship seat. The chip counts are as follows:


1. Andrea Dato – 1,591,000
2. Simon Ravnsbaek – 922,000
3. Rinat Bogdanov – 907,000
4. Alessandro Longobardi – 558,000
5. Andrea Carini – 347,000
6. Gianluca Trebbi – 343,000
