Online poker site at Americas Cardroom is marking the first anniversary of The Beast tournament this month by handing out an extra $51,000.
Americas Cardroom launched a completely revamped version of its software last month and with the $51,000 in cash set to be awarded through daily and weekly leaderboard competitions. “It’s The Beast's birthday but the gifts are reserved exclusively for our players," said Michael Harris from Americas Cardroom. “Over the last year, The Beast has handed out nearly two million dollars in leaderboard prizes. It's the biggest [and] most successful points race in online poker history and this month it's shaping up to be bigger than ever.” The Beast is a progressive points race that is funded entirely from its jackpot tables utilising the ‘shared jackpot contribution money’ of its competitors. At the end of each month, The Beast prize pool is distributed to those ranking highest on its leaderboard. “Anyone who sits down at a cash table marked ‘jackpot’ automatically becomes part of The Beast competition by earning points through participation in a raked hand,” read a statement from Americas Cardroom. “For the month of August, Americas Cardroom is adding 35 additional leaderboard competitions on top of the already popular monthly competition. The 35 competitions come in the form of 31 separate $1,000 daily leaderboard competitions and four weekly $5,000 competitions. The daily and weekly leaderboards are not cumulative, so everyone has a shot at winning.” Americas Cardroom stated that each of its daily leaderboards will be reset at midnight ‘to give all players a fresh start’ while the weekly competitions are to pay out from the same time on August 9, 16, 23 and 31. “To participate in these leaderboards, Americas Cardroom players will have to sit down at the different The Beast jackpot tables and accumulate regular points just as if they were participating in the regular monthly The Beast promotion,” read the statement from Americas Cardroom. New players, including those based in the US, can sign up at Americas Cardroom and earn a 100% first deposit bonus of up to $1,000.
