Amanda Leatherman leaves World Poker Tour show

Friday, 19 February 2010

According to Poker News Daily, World Poker Tour hostess Amanda Leatherman will not be the eye-candy at the next televised WPT event. Rumour has it that she is joining the PokerStars North American Poker Tour – we know, that site has so many tours now we find it hard to keep track too.

Though this hasn’t been confirmed by official sources, the Internet forums are of the staunch belief that she will be hosting the NAPT. A “representative of the tournament series” confirmed Leatherman’s departure, saying:

“Amanda is well-known in the industry for her work across a variety of live reporting and poker news outlets. She was a great addition to the WPT Live Updates team for two seasons and now she’s moving on to her next adventure. We wish her all the best and look forward to seeing her on the poker circuit.”

The WPT is currently in the midst of the LA Poker Classic, which will see the $10,000 Main Event kick off at the Commerce Casino on February 26th and conclude with a massive first place prize on March 4th.
In addition to the Main Event, a $25,000 High Roller event will be taking place. These are proving ever more popular with pros since Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier won half a million dollars for his victory in the 2009 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller tournament.

The NAPT will air on ESPN later this year with 16 hours of programming scheduled. Satellites are running now on PokerStars.
