Ali is the greatest at WSOP Circuit Atlantic City

Monday, 14 March 2011

The World Series of Poker Circuit attracted yet another big field as 442 players competed for the title at Caesars Atlantic City. However, it was Brian Ali who floated like a butterfly to the top of the chip counts and then stung his opponents like a bee to take down the first prize of $139,284 and prove himself the greatest. And, yeah, that’s probably about enough Ali puns.

In addition to the prize money, Ali receives a WSOP-Circuit ring and entry to the 2011 Main Event as well as a ticket to the WSOP Circuit Championship in May. He beat out John Andress heads-up, starting out with a 2-1 chip lead and being whittled down before turning a straight against two pair and getting all the chips to fly in.

Ali eliminated six of his nine opponents at the final table to dominate the last nine and ensure he collected the top prize. The WSOP Circuit moves to San Diego for its next leg; the prizes for the final tablists at Atlantic City were as follows:

1.Brian Ali $139,284
2.John Andress $86,071
3.Patrick Houchins $62,893
4.Ellis Frazier $46,698
5.Roland Israelashvili $35,213
6.Jeff Rowland $26,951
7.Jerry Van Strydonck $20,930
8.Albert Winchester $16,486
9.Joe Caffrey $13,168
