Alex Millar Heads PCA Main Event

Friday, 9 January 2015

Britain's Alex Millar is the man to beat after day 1a of the 2015 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event.

Millar, better known to online railbirds as Kanu7, closed the opening flight in the Bahamas with a stack of 169,100 putting him just ahead of Dani Stern (145,200) and Jason Helder (124,800).

With the LAPT Bahamas turning the heads of many pros, the PCA Main Event field was relatively small with just 220 taking to the tables on Thursday. 139 of them survived the day including a slew of notables names.

Chief among them is former WSOP Main Event winner and the 'man who changed everything', Chris Moneymaker, who returns in eighth on 97,200. Other notables in with a shot of getting 2015 off to a flying start include Leo Margets (77,500), Ole Schemion (74,3000), defending champ Dominik Panka (42,200), Dan Colman (40,500), Vanessa Selbst (38,300), Dominik Nitcshe (37,500), George Danzer (37,500), Ike Haxton (26,500).

Former Brazilian footballer Ronaldo's still in the hunt for Caribbean glory too. He'll be back with 43,400 chips.

The UK challenge is strong too. Joining Millar on day 2 will be the likes of Paul Ephremsen, Max Silver, Rhys Jones and Simon Higgins who all built up above average stacks by the close of Thursday's action.

The Day 1b action starts at noon local time with a much bigger field expected.
