Alan Trueick takes European Shorthanded title

Friday, 24 September 2010

It's not only London that's been hosting top quality tournament action this week. A bumper crowd of 312 players gathered in Dublin for the European Shorthanded Poker Championship.

Despite a massive Gallic invasion (250 of the 312 runners were from France) it was Northern Irishman Alan Trueick who took the honours. Trueick beat Romain Mahot (inevitably a Frenchman) to pocket the €40,142 first prize.

The final table payouts and places were as follows:

1: Alan Trueick (Northern Ireland) — €40,142
2: Romain Mahot (France) — €24,649
3: Cyril Calestroupat (France) — €18,154
4: Nicolas Vallet (France) — €12,990
5: Stephane de Seiter (France) — €9,077
6: Stephane de Crescenzo (France) — €5,947
