Aido’s WPT Flamenco

Aido’s WPT Flamenco

The WPT’s latest Spanish fiesta came to a conclusion yesterday after Sergio Aido took down the title inside Barcelona’s Gran Casino.

After playing through a mixture of qualifiers and locals for four days, Aido wasn’t in the mood to take things slowly at the final table. Indeed, after just five hours of play he’d scooped in the last of Robert Zawadski’s chips to claim his first WPT trophy and €88,500.

Aido’s quick win wasn’t the only interesting story at the final table though. Also making it deep was French rugby professional, David Susigan. After smashing his way through the field to get to the finale, the rugby star fell just short of the try line but still managed to take home €29,550 for his 4th place finish.

Also enjoying a memorable tournament was Redmond Toth. After qualifying through PartyPoker’s $3 satellites, Redmond managed to parlay his ticket into a 5th place finish worth €22,180.
