Paddy Power Poker have warned Irish players of an incoming invasion of aggressive Finns in a poker tournament scheduled for May. Ireland’s largest poker room, together with Poker Magazine Finland and Poker-lehti, have organised a tournament between players from the two countries.
The event is sure to be explosive, with the Finns well known for their aggressive brand of poker taking on, well, the Irish. They might have a reputation for being lucky, but they can play poker too. Ask the likes of Noel Furlong, Andy Black, Padraig Parkinson and Ciaran O'Leary.
The two teams will be represented by 30 online qualifiers, with each team being captained by a poker pro from their respective country. “Finnvasion” is open to Irish and Finnish poker players only, with qualification running through Paddy Power Poker.
Paddy Poker Poker Communications Manager is chomping at the poker bit. 'The Irish lads are already polishing their helmets in anticipation of Finnvasion. We don't have a great record of dispelling invaders from these shores, but Team Paddy will be ready for the Finns this time and, while we will be welcoming them with one hand, we will be trying to crack their aces with the other!'
