Action Dan heads to Ireland

Wednesday, 1 April 2009

Former World Series Of Poker Main Event winner Dan Harrington is the latest top pro to confirm he’ll be playing at the 2009 PaddyPowerPoker.com Irish Poker Open. Harrington, who won the big one in 1995 will join fellow WSOP Main Event winners Noel Furlong and Jamie Gold in Dublin over the Easter weekend.

Harrington, known to millions as the author of the Harrington On Hold ‘Em series of books, is one of only a handful of players to have won both WSOP and WPT titles. If you fancy that he’ll add the Irish Open to his very impressive tournament CV then bookmakers paddypower.com are offering odds of 100/1.

PaddyPower.com is also offering odds on which member of last year’s final table will last longest this year. Defending champion Neil Channing heads the list at 4/1, followed by Eric Larcheveque at 5/1, Thomas Dunwoodie at 11/2, Tim Blake, Edwin Tournier, Donal Norton and Kai Danilo Paulsen all at 6/1 with Joh Carsten at 8/1.

It’s still not too late to qualify for the €3,200+€300 buy in Main Event which runs from 9th to 13th April 2009. For details see http://www.irishpokeropen.com/qualify/index.php
