Thursday, 3 December 2009

Day 1c of the Asian Pacific Poker Tour Grand Final, sponsored by PokerStars and being hosted by the Sky City Casino in Sydney, concluded yesterday with a grand total of 109 players surviving the three starting days.

Day 1a saw Tony “Bond18” Dunst hold the chip lead with over 100,000 to his name. The 109-player field saw several players, including overnight chip leader Leo Boxell (147,700) trump his total before Day 1c, which featured the largest total with 209 players entering and 115 surviving.

David Campbell held the chip lead over the other 114 players, catapulting him to 4th in the total chip standings with over 130,000. Day 1c also saw the largest turnout of Team PokerStars PROS with Joe Hachem and 2008 world champion Peter Eastgate entered the fray but hit the rail early. Joe’s brother Tony was in the running but was eliminated by Mark Vos after failing to find his outs with AT against JJ.

Join us tomorrow for the low-down on Day 2 when the 115 remaining players will narrow it down to being even closer to a $594,000 AUD first prize.
