Organisers at APAT were promising some big news late last year and they haven't disappointed. The site will host APAT National Championships and National League fixtures online as well as satellites for live events. The season will feature 28 events throughout the UK and Ireland with three more tournament series taking place in Austria, Spain and Estonia. The highlight of the APAT calendar is August's World Amateur Championship at Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham. The four-day festival will feature a host of tournaments including Heads Up, Stud, Omaha, Six Max, Horse and Hold'em events as well as a Team Championship.APAT has also revealed details of a seven event deep stack, Pot Limit Hold'em Professional League that will run on Saturdays alongside the regular Amateur Championship events as well as a six-event mixed event series that will run on Sundays. The winner of the Professional League will win a sponsorship package worth £20,000.Another £20,000 sponsorship package will also be awarded to the winner of the APAT Champions Final that will feature the 17 APAT champions as well as the winners of the Online and National Amateur rankings.Des Duffy, managing director of APAT, said, “APAT launched the UK’s first national poker tour in 2006 and it has become a proving ground for new and developing players, with members winning WSOP, EPT and GUKPT titles, amongst many others. This partnership with Betfair Poker brings a well-known and respected brand to APAT, as well as a tremendous amount of additional value and opportunity for our members”.
