The Amateur Poker Association & Tour (“APAT”), in conjunction with Blue Square, has announced details of the sixth live event in its critically acclaimed tour.
The European Amateur Poker Championship will be held at the Grosvenor G Casino in Luton over the bank holiday weekend, August 25th to 27th.
The entry fee will be £75.00 and the winner will take home an expenses-paid entry to the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Grand Final, worth up to $8,000, in addition to the European Amateur title and a substantial cash prize.
The 3-day event will see 300 seats being made available and these will be allocated in the following way:
A seat option will be available for every $160 in the prize pool, via one online satellite at Blue Square, taking place on Monday August 6th at 8pm. This event will feature a $20 + $2 entry fee. The remaining seats will be allocated via a direct buy-in at www.apat.com on Wednesday August 8th at around 7.00pm.
The event will feature two Day Ones and players will have the opportunity to nominate on which opening day they would prefer to play.
APAT members from several European countries have expressed their intention to travel to Luton, ensuring that this will be the largest and most international APAT tournament field to date.
‘Season One’ of APAT’s live calendar will conclude with the APAT World Amateur Poker Championship, where the winner will take a Blue Square-sponsored expenses-paid entry to the main event at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Details are expected in late August.
‘Season Two’ of APAT’s schedule will see close to 70 live and 50 online tournaments scheduled, with new tour sponsor Blue Square in place. In addition to the usual events, a Regional Championship series, extended National Championship series, World Amateur Championship Festival and inaugural Masters Pro-Am tournaments are planned.
