AOL poker players can now play for WSOP seats in nine No-Limit Texas Hold’em tournaments on AOL’s World Series of Poker hub. The nine tournaments will run over nine weeks, with qualifier freerolls running every day.
The Sunday tournament will be a winner-take-all event, with the $10,000 WSOP main event buy-in and money for travel up for grabs.
Jeffrey Pollack, Commissioner of the WSOP says that “AOL is the only officially sanctioned place to play for a chance to win free seats on the Internet.”
Ralph Riviera, Vice President and General Manager of AOL Games, added, “Our agreement with Harrah’s will provide nine novice poker players with the opportunity of a lifetime to join Poker professionals to possibly win the grand prize purse worth millions.”
While AOL may not have a great deal of exposure in the online poker world, it does have a decent range of poker tips and videos of the pros at the table. They also offer Omaha, Stud and other poker games.
